Two persons died in Goa on Sunday in separate incidents caused due to gusty winds triggered by cyclone Tauktae, which also damaged hundreds of houses and blocked some highways in parts of the state as trees fell at several points, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
The major impact of the cyclonic winds was felt in Bardez taluka in North Goa district and Mormugao in South Goa, he said.

The railways has delivered more than 9,440 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) in nearly 590 tankers to various states across the country since April 19, the national transporter said on Sunday.
Around 150 Oxygen Express trains have completed their journey so far and brought relief to various states, it added.

Tauktae has turned into an "extremely severe cyclonic storm", the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.

Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority on Sunday informed nine crew members of tugboat 'Coromandel Supporter' remained stranded at sea near Udupi district, owing to Cyclone Tauktae-induced strong winds in the Arabian Sea.
Efforts are on to rescue them as INS Varaha has been deployed to rescue them. Due to huge waves and heavy wind speed the operation stopped.

Cyclone Tauktae has hit the Karnataka coast on Saturday, informed the state's home minister.
"Cyclone Tauktae has hit the Karnataka coast. Two NDRF teams are there. We are also deploying three SDRF teams. 1,000 people will be working round the clock in three coastal districts of Karnataka," state Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai told ANI.
