Sources informed that a fishing boat aboard ten fishermen capsized at the Koderi port in Nagoor in Byndoor taluk when it crashed into rocks as a result of high winds and torrential rains. It is reported that the mishap happened when the fishermen were returning to the port after finishing fishing activity, which as a result, six fishermen managed to swim to the shores, while the other four were hit by high waves. The search operation for the missing fishermen was launched.

The missing fishermen are identified as Naga Narayan (67), Manjunath Subba (40), and Shekar Kharvi (39). All are residents of Uppunda near Byndoor. The identity of the fourth missing fisherman was not known.

With heavy rains from morning till noon in Bhatkal resulted in waterlogging in some places.
