Joida: A clerk at Tahsildar Office in Joida taluk in Uttara Kannada district was caught red-handed by ACB officials for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
The Assistant grade-II clerk, Manjunath, posted at Joida Tahsildar office, was caught with the sum after he demanded the bribe from the complainant to change his name, an ACB official told.
Manjunath demanded Rs 11,000 bribe from Mohan Desai, but caught red-handed while collecting a sum of Rs 2,000 from the latter at his office.
Manjunath has been booked under various sections of Corruption Act.
