Mangaluru: Three persons were killed and two were injured after a car rammed a KSRTC bus on Mani-Mysuru highway at Arambooru, near Aletti, in Sullia taluk on Sunday.

The accident occurred when the driver of the car, in a bid to overtake an autorickshaw, rammed the KSRTC bus. According to police, the deceased are Manjula, Somanna and Nagendra. Tanmayi and Jayasheela have suffered injuries and are recuperating at Government Hospital in Sullia.

The KSRTC bus was bound to Kollegala from Mangaluru while the car was on its way to Mangaluru from Ramanagara.

All the deceased hail from Koluru Mudugere in Channapatna taluk in Ramanagara district.
