Bhatkal: Private bus hits pedestrian; dies minutes before reaching hospital

Bhatkal: The evening hours of 23rd May, Tuesday in Bhatkal brought up sadness after the private bus went on hitting a pedestrian, resulting in his death before few minutes from reaching the hospital. The incident happened on NH66 near Madina colony in Bhatkal.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Mohan Devappa Mogar (30), a resident of Shirali of Bhatkal taluk. 

Eyewitness say, Mohan was walking towards the circle aside the road, while the private bus too was moving towards circle to pick its passengers to move on to Bengaluru. Shockingly, the disgusting thing here for the cause of the accident was that the bus was moving with its side luggage box door opened, which into a force hit the pedestrian. The impact of the collision was so horrible that when the collision took place, the door of a bus got separated and the pedestrian sustained serious injuries over his head and stomach. Observed this by the youths, immediately carried the pedestrian to the hospital. But sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Fearing the situation, the bus driver fled the scene after leaving the bus aside from the road. The police personnel rushed to the spot as soon as the information was received and conducted the necessary investigations.

About the deceased Mohan, he was a fisherman by occupation and was from poor family.
