Sirsi: A case was registered at Sirsi cyber crime police station regarding a KSRTC bus conductor becoming a victim of losing thousands of rupees to a fraudulent call when he tried to Google out and reach a call girl in Sirsi.
The victim is Lingaraj Naik (28), a resident of Shikaripura in Shivamogga district. He is employed as KSRTC bus conductor at Sirsi.
Sources said that on 28th September, Lingaraj googled out to collect information about a call girl. He collected the name and contact number and went on to dial from his cellphone.
The call receiver, who agreed to provide the services, asked instant deposit of three thousand rupees, wherein the conductor accepted and made an online payment. The accused lured conductor and asked to deposit some more money progressively, making the figure of amount reach around eighty six thousand rupees.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Sirsi cyber crime police station and further investigations are underway.
