Congress door to door campaign from 23rd Sept.

Party activists to visit every home in district as part of the plan

Karwar: All India Congress Committee Secretary Manikyam Thakur, said, Congress party will organise door-to-door campaign from September 23 across the State to strengthen and reinforce the party.

Speaking after inaugurating the Block Congress Booth Committee Workers Convention at Karwar-Ankola constituency, in Karwar, on 12th September, Tuesday, he said that with an aim to win upcoming elections, AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi has directed party workers to organise booth level committees in all villages.

In this regard, under the in-charge of MLAs, Congress activists will visit every home in the district. There are many developmental works that have been taken up in the district, as a result it is confirmed that Congress will be voted back to power in upcoming elections, he pointed.

Speaking on the occasion, District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande said, the organization should be strengthened from small villages to country capital. It is only then possible to reach the party programmes to the public.

The achievements of Siddaramaiah government should be written in gold words, he added.

“Interest free loans are being provided to farmers, Stree Shakti and Women Self-help Groups, To facilitate the people living at the edges of river Kali, Aganashini and Sharavati, the bridge construction has sanctioned and tender process was also completed,” he observed.

He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who promised to create two crore jobs during the election, he has not even given employment to two lakh people of the Congress have sacrificed themselves in the struggle for Independence.

However, there is no single person form BJP who had sacrificed for country’s Independence, he pointed out.

KPCC Vice-President D R Patil, MLC member S L Ghotnekar, KFDC President Rajendra Naik, District Congress Unit President Bhimanna Naik, Ankola Block Congress President Panduranga, KPCC Secretary V S, Congress leader Ramanand Nayak and others were present.

 

Scuffle between supports

Meanwhile supporters of KPCC Secretary Gopal Nayak objected to the speech of MLA Satish Sail demanding to allow Gopal Nayak to speak first.

The verbal spat between supporters of both Satish Said and Gopal Nayak has created disturbance at the convention with DySP Pramod Rao led police team convincing them to set aside their differences.

Later, both Satish Sail and Gopal Nayak addressed the meeting

Speaking to reporters, Satish Sail said, there is no group politics between him and Gopal Nayak, observing that the programme was well organized.
