Body of fisherman missing from Bhatkal sea traced in Kumta

Kumta: The body of a missing fisherman, who went missing after drowning at Arabian sea in Mavinakurwe in the taluk around five days ago, was found at Vanalli coast in Kumta taluk on Wednesday. 

It is believed that Shankar Manjunath Kharvi, 35, while returning to the port after fishing, went missing in the sea after losing the balance. A search operation was then launched in different parts of the sea for the missing fisherman. But, the efforts remained untraceable. However, five days later, his body was found stuck between the rocks near the Head- Bunder in Vanalli area in Kumta.

Locals reported the matter to the Kumta police station, after which the police arrived at the spot and took the body to Governmnt hospital for post mortem.
