Mangaluru:  The six fishermen continued to remain missing on the eight day.

It can be recalled that the Indian Fishing Boat Rabah, with 14 fishermen had sailed from the Beypore port of Khozikhode district in Kerala on April 11. The boat had collided with a Singapore merchant ship, ‘MV APL Le Havre’, 40 nautical miles west of Surathkal in wee hours on April 12. The authorities could recover three bodies and rescued two fishermen.

The search operations are carried out by the Indian Coast Guard, the Coastal Security Police and the Naval ships.

The last rites of Subal Das (45) and Subul Das (38) from West Bengal, whose bodies were recovered recently, were performed at the Nandigudde cremetorium in Mangaluru. As the families could not take the bodies back, they decided to perform the last rites in Mangaluru itself, sources added.
