Ankola: In a road accident involving collision between truck and a bike near Honnalli forest checkpost in the taluk on Friday, a biker was killed on the spot, while pillion sustain serious injuries.

The deceased is identified as Bommayya Rama Gauda (30), a resident of Shiragunji village in Uttara Kannada district. Manjunath Tulasu Gauda is the injured victim.

Sources informed that the incident happened when a saplings laden truck hit a bike causing death of the rider. Soon after receiving the information, police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigation.

The injured was taken to Ankola government hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered in Ankola police station.
