Karwar: A bike rider was severely injured after he had lost control of the two-wheeler and fell in the ditch due to strong winds of cyclone 'Kyar' that hit the region recently at Habbuwada in Karwar. Following the incident, he was rushed to the hospital for treatments, but unfortunately, he succumbed to the injuries in the hospital.

The deceased is identified as Udaya Chipkar, aged 48, a resident of Kodibag.

Sources said that he met with an accident at Habbuwada. Soon after the incident, he was taken to the district hospital, where he was getting treatment. Unfortunately, he breathed his last on Tuesday. 

He was employed at VRL logistics in Karwar.
