Kumta: In a bizarre incident, a motorcycle caught on fire and the rider who was starting it had a narrow escape which occurred at Bastipet in Kumta on 28th July, Friday evening.

Sources informed that the bike belonged to N.A Patgar of Kadle, Kumta. The fire caught accidentally when he was starting the vehicle. The reason behind the fire is suspected due to the short circuit of the battery. As the blaze of fire rose up, the rider immediately got out of the vehicle and had a narrow escape from the incident.

A case has been registered in Kumta Police Station and investigations are going on.
