Bhatkal: Two long serving professors of one of the biggest educational organization of Uttara Kannada district, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal, Prof. Ahmad Nabi Mehboob Mulla (AM Mulla) of Anjuman Degree College & PG Center, and Muhammad Ali Jamadar (MM Jamadar) of Department of English, retired from their duties on 31st May, 2021.
Professor AM Mulla served as professor, Head of the department and college principal for 35 years in Department of commerce. In this period, he worked as an In-Charge of NSS and also as Students Welfare Officer in Educational fields. Apart from this, he used to attend seminars at the state, national and international levels.
He has also served as a Member of the Board of Education, Karnataka University, Dharwad; Vice-President of College Teachers' Association, Karwar; and Secretary of College Principal Sangha. A native of Bagalkot district, AM Mulla has been involved in the teaching profession in Bhatkal for the last 35 years and has been active person at various levels.
Professor MM Jamadar belongs to a middle class family in Dharwad. He served as the Professor of the Department of English, and also as the Head of the Department for nearly 30 years. He served as the first principal of Anjuman PU College for two years after the separation of PU College from Degree College. He also performed important duties such as Deputy Principal and Good Coordinator in the Degree College. Professor Jamadar, who is fluent in English literature and language, is considered one of the best textbook experts and the best English speakers. He has proved his worth by attending state, national and international seminars. His students living in the country and abroad are still his heard of praising him.
Despite being a English expert person, Prof. Jamadar, who has a special taste in Urdu poetry, memorized the ghazals of many poets including Allama Iqbal, Shakeel Badauni, and Faiz Ahmad Faiz. He also used these poems in his discourse.
On the retirement of both the professors, the principals, teaching and non-teaching staff of Anjuman College and a large number of students have expressed their good wishes.
