Bhatkal: Of the 184 passengers who reached Bhatkal on a chartered flight from Dubai on Saturday, throat swab samples from 71 of them were taken on Sunday, including 26 children under the age of 10 years.

According to sources, samples of 21 pregnant women, 18 other women taking care of them, 26 children (under the age of 10) and 6 elderly people (Above 60 years of age) including three women were taken on Sunday evening. It has been informed that all the samples will be sent to the Karwar laboratory for testing on Monday morning. The reports are expected by Tuesday evening.

Bahrain and Dubai returnees quarantined:

Sources said that a family from Bahrain and a man from Dubai reached Bhatkal via Bengaluru on Sunday. It was reported that these people had gone straight to their homes, but as soon as the district authorities got this information, they were rushed to a government hospital and after receiving their throat swab samples for Corona testing, they were quarantined in a private hotel. It has been reported that the family that came from Bahrain includes four children who have now been quarantined.
