Bhatkal: A 36-Year-Old man committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree here at Elbar in Benandur village in Bhatkal taluk on Saturday evening.

The deceased is identified as Ganapathi Narayan Naik. Sources said that the victim had fell ill since many days due to hefty consumption of alcohol. 

A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station and police are investigating.
