Bhatkal: A group was fined Rs 500 for not maintaining social distance in a raid conducted by Jali Pattan Panchayat during the Corona Curfew in Bhatkal, while a total of 16 people were fined for not wearing masks. This information was given by Ajay Bhandarkar, Chief Officer, Jali Pattan Panchayat.
Speaking with SahilOnline on a phone call, Ajay Bhandarkar said that a team from the panchayat visited several areas and urged people to wear masks and to maintain social distance. He said that in order to curb the spread of Coronavirus, the people also have to be aware and support the administration. In some places, warnings were issued for the first time for not maintaining social distance, while one group was fined. He said that those who had opened their shops in Jali Pattan Panchayat limits in the morning have been closed after talking to all the shopkeepers.
He further added saying that in order to control the Corona, it has been banned to visit Jali Beach. He warned that if anyone was found violating the law, will be strictly dealt in accordance with section 51 to 61 of the Disaster Management Act 2015, and in accordance with the Indian Penal Code.
