Bhatkal: Sports helps in maintaining mental and physical health of an individual, said Bhatkal Block Education Officer M. R Munji.

He was speaking at the annual sports meet of Islamia Anglo Urdu High School at the Anjuman Ground in Bhatkal town on Sunday, 8th December. Students should give importance to extracurricular activities along with their studies, he added. He advised the students to try taking victory to next level and get more opportunities to compete at Club, State and National and Olympic level, Mr. Munji said. 

Earlier, Mr. Munji, Chief guest of the program, inaugurated the meet by hoisting the college flag. The athletic meet began with a splendid march-past led by students. Besides holding individual competitions, there would also relays and other events. In every category, both individual championship and team championship will be awarded at Annual Social gathering.

The event was presided by Anjuman senior Executive member Abdur Rahman Basha Phelewan.

Anjuman’s General Secretary Ismail Siddique, School Board secretaries Abdul Wajid Kola, Asaf Damudi, Headmaster Shabbir Dafedar, Physical directors Abdur Razzak and Farooque and  many others were present.
