Bhatkal: The Bhatkal police on Friday evening arrested another accused who was allegedly involved in the murder of Affan Jabali, whose body was found at a private lodge in Bhatkal on 19th October, Saturday night. With this, the number of arrested accused increased to three.
According to sources, the arrested is identified as Musharraf, a resident of Mangaluru, who is expected to be produced in the court on Saturday, 26th October.
It shall be recalled that after the incident thousands of people had gathered outside the hotel. A man who was Bhatkal local, involved in the murder was caught at the spot when he was trying to flee, while all the five people allegedly involved in the incident managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident. All the three who fled the scene are said to be the residents of Dakshina Kannada district. In this connection, the second accused was nabbed from Bantwal on Thursday, while the third was arrested from Mangaluru on Friday.
Police are searching for three more people who are absconding. It is informed that three separate police teams have been formed at three different locations.
