Bhatkal: Responding to the issue placed by the councillors about the drainage problems in the taluk on 11th September, assurance has been provided by the Deputy Commissoner stating that the problem will be addressed until 21st September, Thursday.
Addressing at a press meet on 11th September, City Municipal Council president Sadiq Matta had said that if the drainage issue will not be addressed until 18th September, Monday, then the councilors will stage a protest and even if that is not enough, all of them will resign from their respective posts.
However, city municipal council vice president K M Ashfaq visited the SahilOnline office on 17th September, Sunday and said that DC S S Nakul has assured them that the drainage issue will be addressed until Thursday and hence the protest has been postponed for now.
He further said that the Deputy Commissioner has assured them that a technical team consisting of experts will arrive to the town from Bengaluru in order to ascertain a solution for the problem.
Muncipal councillor Abdullah was also present on the occasion.
