Bhatkal: A youth who was seriously injured in a road accident on Bunder road here which happened at around 12 AM succumbed at Manipal Hospital this afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Muhammad Hussain (21).

The accident happened when the bike had an head-on collision with a speeding car, as a result of which Muhammad Hussain was seriously injured and he was shifted to Manipal in critical condition after providing first aid at Bhatkal Government Hospital.

According to Police, there were three people on the bike during the accident. Police said that another young man on the bike, Imran s/o Shabbir Ahmed, also suffered internal injuries and was admitted to a private hospital. It is learned that Imran has now been discharged from the hospital, while the third youth, Abdur Rahman, sustained minor injuries. All three are between 20 and 22 years old.

The body of Muhammad Hussain, who succumbed to injuries at Manipal Hospital, was handed over to his family members after necessary procedures.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station.
