Bhatkal: Five more houses in Bhatkal taluk incurred severe damage after heavy rains continued to lash in the region.

The walls of the houses collapsed after rainwater rushed into it, while the roof of a house also broke down causing major damage. The houses belonged to Maasti Manjappa Bengre, Laxmi Rama Marathi Kasageri Bailur, Kupayya Lachmayya Naik Hadlur Ashikan, Madeve Kom Jatappa Naik Divagiri Mavalli, and Hiriyabin Soma Naik Belke. 

During the incident, the residents of three houses were present in the house, while two houses were empty. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident. The loss incurred from all the houses is estimated as 1.5 lakh rupees.

Revenue officers visited the spot and have conducted the inspection.
