Bhatkal: After a long wait, the results of the second year pre-university course examinations have been declared on 11th of May 2017. Girls have again outperformed boys with a passing percentage of 60.28% while boys lagged behind at 44.74%. The district of Udupi topped the state with 90.01 pass percentage, while Bidar recorded the lowest with 42.05 pass percentage . Uttara Kannada secured 3rd position with a pass percentage of 71.99.

In the Arts section, the pass percentage was 61.36%, in Commerce; 76.85% and Science recorded a pass percentage of 73.55%.

Last year, the district had secured 76.44% and stood fourth in the State. However, this year the ranking has improved but the percentage has dropped.

In the whole district, a total of 13,322 students had appeared for the exam of which 3,970 were boys and 6,283 girls.

Bhatkal:

Saubiya Momin D/o Salman Momin of Anand Ashram Composite PU College, Bhatkal secured 584 marks with a stunning 97.33%, securing the top position in Science stream in Bhatkal taluk.

Kumari Reshma Achari of Beena Vaidya PU College, Murdeshwar secured 577 marks out of 600 with 96.16% in Commerce stream and achieved first place in Taluk.

Aysha Urooj S/o Mohammed Irfan Ajaib of Anjuman Pre-university College for Women secured 94.33% in Arts stream and secured first place in Taluk.

Anjuman Pre-University College for Woman, Bhatkal (for girls) secured 87.09 % in PUC II examinations. 279 students had appeared for the exams of which 243 have passed. Among them, 34 students have secured distinction and 155 have acquired first class. The commerce department has secured 91.89% result, the Science department secured 76% while the Arts department secured 90.30%.

Toppers included Aysha D/o Mohammed Ibrahim Patel secured 94.833% in Science stream, Sadrunnisa D/0 Syed Samiullah Barmawar with 94.33% in the Commerce stream and Aysha Urooj D/o Mohammed Irfan Ajaiab who secured 94.33% marks in Arts stream. All of the above are among the top mark scorers in their particular streams.

Siddartha PU College, Bhatkal has achieved 90% pass percentage. A total of 170 students appeared in examination, 153 passed and 38 secured Distinction. Sahana Mahadev Naik secured 96.33% and stood first in science stream, while Chairta Hegde scored 92% in commerce stream and stood first.

RNS College Murdeshwar achieved 85.78 % in PU Examinations held this year. Out of 197 students 169 passed the exams.

Kumari Kkavana Naik secured 88% in the Science stream; Pooja Bhoovi secured 90.05% in the Commerce stream and Hemanth Devadig secured 77.33% marks in Arts.

Anand Ashram Composite PU College registered 96.72 pass percentage. Saubiya Momin soared ahead with (97.33%) in Science stream and Preetica S D’Souza topped with 86.66% in commerce stream.

The New English Pre-University College, Bhatkal also secured good pass percentage. The science department secured  (94.28%) and Commerce stream (91.3%). In the Science stream, Shreya Pai topped with 96% marks, Hetakshi Moger from Arts Stream secured 86.00% and Archana shet from Commerce stream secured 93.16%.

National Pre-University College, Murdeshwar secured 92.5%. A total 40 students appeared for the examination out of which 37 students passed. The Arts and science departments girls had achieved 100 percent passing result, where Muneera D/o Mohammed Khawaja Mohiuddin Khadira topped with scoring 85.16% in Arts stream and Shayeeya D/o Abdul wadood Qazi stood first in college and commerce stream by securing 92.083%.

Janata Vidyalaya PU college , Shirali has scored 81.16% of pass result in PU examination , 153 students appeared for the examinations ,125 students passed in examination.

Beena Vaidya PU College, Murdeshwar, Reshma Acahari topped in the college by scoring 96.16% in Commerce stream and Sachin Moger secured 90.33% in Science stream.

Anjuman Pre-University College, Bhatkal (for boys)  In the college, Commerce section secured 75%, Science section 67%, while Arts section 80%. Ibrahim Sawood of Commerce stream stood top in college with scoring 93.83% marks, while Mr. Mohammed Sulait Jaffri of Science stream secured 543 marks with 90.50% and Zeeshan Khan secured 77.3% marks in Arts stream.

Government Pre-university College, Bhatkal secured result of 67% in PU examinations this year. A total of 76 students appeared for the exam, of which 51 passed.  Kalpana Mastayya Naik stood first in commerce stream and college by scoring 510 marks with 85.00%,Sunita Padmayya Naik in Art stream scored 60.16% and Sandeep Krishna Naik with 57.66% in science stream.
