Bhatkal police announce special traffic arrangements around Ramzan bazaar ahead of Eid shopping rush

Bhatkal: Anticipating a large influx of shoppers from Bhatkal and nearby areas ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Bhatkal police have announced special traffic arrangements and temporary route diversions around the busy Ramzan Bazaar area to ensure smooth vehicular movement and convenience for the public.

Appealing to citizens to cooperate, the police urged the public to follow the guidelines and help maintain traffic discipline during the festive shopping period.

According to a press release issued by the Bhatkal Town Police, vehicles will be allowed to move from the Old Bus Stand via Maulana Azad Road. However, entry of all vehicles has been completely prohibited on the road leading to the Ramzan Market from Sultan Street via Misbah Cross.

The road from Marikatta to the Flower Bazaar has been declared a one-way route, as usual. Vehicular movement from Marikatta towards the Old Bus Stand will be completely restricted, while commuters may use Sultan Street or Car Street to reach the Old Bus Stand. In addition, parking of vehicles on both sides of the road near the Maulana Azad Road Cross will not be permitted.

Police have designated specific parking locations for visitors. The ground of Islamia Anglo-Urdu High School (behind the Municipal building) will be available for parking from 4:00 pm to 3:00 am. Parking will also be permitted at the Public Chabutra during the same hours.

Residents living along the stretch from the Old Bus Stand through the Main Road up to Marikatta will be issued special vehicle passes. Pass holders have been advised to use only two-wheelers until 8:00 pm, while the use of four-wheelers or larger vehicles will not be allowed.

Shopkeepers operating in the same area will also be issued passes, with permission granted for only one two-wheeler per shop. They have been instructed to transport goods required for their shops between 6:00 am and 10:00 am.

The Bhatkal police once again appealed to the public to cooperate with the arrangements, keeping in mind the heavy crowds and traffic pressure expected in the Ramzan Bazaar during the Eid shopping season.
