Bhatkal: The fresher's day event for newly admitted students was held at the new English PU college in Bhatkal. Meanwhile, the toppers of the second PU passed students were also honored at the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, headmaster of Kuntevani govt high school, Sir M Hegde stated that the students should not gain knowledge only with the intention of achieving high marks, but also they should focus on how to lead a life. He further said that discussions regarding the useful things required for human life should be always done. This could help an individual to mingle with everyone and lead a happy life.

Meanwhile, the meritorious students of the college, who brought good result to the college were honored. Also, a plant was planted on the occasion. 

The program was presided by the president of Bhatkal educational trust Suresh Naik. The principal of College Ravindra Shanbag and educational adviser BR Murthy were present on the dais. On the occasion, the entertainment programs from first PU students were also held.
