Bhatkal: Three tourists were rescued by lifeguards from drowning while swimming here at Murdeshwar beach in Bhatkal taluk on 11th September, Monday.
The rescued tourists were identified as Suri, Shrinath, and Shivam, all residents of Bengaluru. Sources informed that a group of friends from Bengaluru had been to Murdeshwar on tour. They visited the Murdeshwar temple for Pooja in the morning, and later in the evening, they went on for swimming in the sea.
The team of the lifeguard who were successful in rescuing the tourists were Annappa Harikant, Subramanya Harikant, and Revanth Harikant. Murdeshwar beach supervisor Narasimha Moger and Home-guard Yamuna too extended the helping hand in the incident.
