Bhatkal: The BJP is constantly trying to break the confidence of Congress leaders through various means such as raids on them by taking control over investigation agencies such as IT and CBI. But we are the ones who have fought the British alongside Mahatma Gandhiji and we will not break so easily. These views were expressed by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President S R Patil.
Patil was addressing at at Shree Ragahaveshwara Swamiji Hall in Murdeshwar in the taluk after the inauguration of booth-level party workers convention of Bhatkal – Honnavar constituency on 12th September, Tuesday.
He said that Congress would retain power in the next Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2018 and CM Siddaramiah will become the Chief minister again. He requested the booth-level party workers to put all their effort to ensure victory in their respective booths.
He pointed out about the election promise made by the prime minister during the elections of giving every Indian Rs. 15 lakh from the black money seized from foreign banks.
“Congress party had fulfilled nearly 159 out of the 165 assurances given in the 2013 election manifesto and that it assures only what it can do”, he added.
Patil said that the party has chalked out programmes to create awareness among voters regarding the good work done by the Siddaramaiah government in the State.
A bike rally was exhibited by the Congress party workers from Belur in order to present a warm welcome to guests prior to the programme.
