Bhatkal: A major fire broke out at Anfal Supermarket Office near Jamia Masjid, Nawayath Colony which resulted in the loss of 5 lakh rupees. The fire brigade team was called to put off the fire but the materials present inside were reduced to ashes. This incident occured at the midnight around 3 : 30am on 18th July, Monday.

According to the sources, PSI Kodgonti and other personnel were on their usual round when they saw smoke coming out of the building. Upon closer investigation, it was found out that the fire has broken out in one of the office. Immediately they informed the office proprietor and General Secretary of Majlis Islah-wa-Tanzeem Mohiyuddin Altaf Khakuri and the fire brigade team.

The fire brigade arrived and put off the blaze but three computers, one AC, CCTV camera, table, chairs, sofa and other furnitures were burned to ashes along with the interior of the office. It was speculated that this incident occured due to the short circuit and loss of 5 lakh rupees were incurred. Due to this incident all the ledger books and documented papers were also burnt.

Fortunately,  the police noticed the fire early or else the neighbouring shops would have been caught up in the flames.

Anfal Ruknuddin, Imtiyaz, Afzan, Hassan, General Secretary Mohiuddin Khakuri and others also arrived at the spot.
