Bhatkal: In the honour of achieving "President's Medal" award, Bhatkal DySP Valentine D'Souza, was felicitated by Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem of Bhatkal on 31st August, Saturday here at Tanzeem office.

Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal, Mr Sajid Ahmed Mulla was present as the chief guest in the event.

The program began with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran by Maulana Irshad Africa. Former general secretary of Tanzeem, Dr Muhammad Haneef Shabab gave a brief introduction about Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem. 

Maulavi Abdur Raqeeb MJ Nadvi, general secretary of Tanzeem, introduced DySP Valentine Dsouza and Assistant Commissioner Sajid Mulla. He said that a good team of Police and Administration are present in Bhatkal Sub Division, who have achieved great success in maintaining law and order in Bhatkal and also peace & harmony in the region.

Further, DySP Valentine Dsouza and Assistant Commissioner Sajid Mulla were felicitated by Tanzeem president SM Syed Ahmed Parvez. DySP Valentine was also honoured with a trophy on this occasion. Vice-presidents of Tanzeem, Mr Atiqur Rahman Muniri and Maulana Hasham presented mementos to the guests.

Mr Valentine D'Souza, addressing on the occasion, thanked Tanzeem and its officials for organizing the event in his honor. He said that co-operation between the public, the police and the administration plays a key role in maintaining peace and harmony at any place. 

Chief guest, Sajid Mulla, expressed his pleasure and lauded Bhatkal by saying that unlike other places, the way Bhatkal's people live together in unity is far different. 

The event was compered by Dr Muhammad Haneef Shabab. Executive member Jailani Shabandari delivered a vote of thanks.
