Beltangadhy: While collecting fodder-grass for his cattle, a man lost his life by drowning as his leg slipped, and he fell into a pond on 5th August, Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Satish Achari (25 yrs), an unmarried man from a village called Bajire.
According to the sources, Satish had gone to an areca nut farm to collect fodder for his cattle. And while he was cutting grass on the edge of a pond located there, his leg slipped. After falling into the pond, he was unable to climb up.
His dead body was recovered from the pond by the help of fire brigade personnel. It was then transferred to the government hospital for post-mortem.
A case was registered at Beltangadhy police station.
