Belthangady: Revenue officials visit Korga families, promise to provide basic facilities

Belthangady: A visit was paid by the revenue officials to the Korga families living in plastic tents at Pacherdka of Kalmanj village. The officials surveyed the location.

Revenue Commissioner of Belthangady, Mr. Ravi Kumar and Village accountant Raghavender BS inspected the houses and got an overview of the conditions of Korga families living in the area. They studied the various problems faced by the Korga and Dalits.

The officials stated that work is in progress to provide residential facilities to five of these families and the place for construction of this houses have been allotted. “Ration card facility will also be provided to these families soon”, he added.

They also informed that once the matter of construction land is solved, Rs 2 lakh per head will be provided by the government for construction work.

State member of Dalit Legal Committee Shakeer L and other revenue officials were present on the occasion.
