Karwar: Body of a baby was found in a decomposed state in the drainage near the highway near Sadashivgad on Friday.

“It is suspected that either the baby must have been born pre-mature or must have been dumped in the drainage by someone,” police said.

SP Shivaprakash Devaraju visited the spot.

The postmortem was conducted and later it was buried. Chittakula police have registered a case in this connection.
