Ankola: An autorickshaw driver along with three passengers sustained injuries in a road accident that took place while he was trying to avoid running over a dog here at Singanamakki in Ankola on Monday, 28th October.

The driver, Umesh Narayana Naik, sustained severe leg injury, whereas the passengers escaped with minor wounds.

The Mishap happened when the rickshaw was heading towards Ankola town from Manjaguni village. As the dog came in the rickshaw's way, the driver tried to swerve the vehicle, which as a result got toppled in the process. 

Later, an argument broke out between the owner of the dog and local residents, accusing dog owner of showing lack of negligence in maintaining his pet, which is causing harm to the vehicles and pedestrians on the road.

A case has been registered in Ankola police station.
