Mangaluru:  In a bid to infuse confidence among the Afghan nationals including students residing in Mangaluru, the City Police Commissionerate led by City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar convened a meeting with them on Saturday.

Later speaking to mediapersons, he said as many as 58 Afghan nationals including students are in Mangaluru, some of them studying at Mangalore University.

He said of the 58 students, 11 are in Mangaluru and the remaining 47 are staying in Mangaluru with their family members, As the Afghanistan Students Association had made an appeal, the Department and the District Administration will strive to boost their morale, he added.
