Bhatkal : The 48th annual social gathering of New Shams School was celebrated on Saturday at Syed Ali Campus, Jamia Abad Road here at Bhatkal.

"Najm-e-Ikwan"  gold medal in boys was awarded to Ahmed Saalif S/o Sajjad Anwer Fakardey. The chief guest for the function was Mr. Akhter Ahmed Khan, General Secretary, Touheed Educational Trust, Gangolli, whreas Alumni of shams and Entrepreneur Syed Gufran Abdullah Lanka was guest of honour,

Mr. Ismail Mohtesham, President of Idara Tarbiat Ikwan preside over the function.
On the occasion, ITI honoured Life time Achievement to prominnent Social worker Syed Hasan Barmawar, PSI Mujhaid Shaikh, 10 years service in teaching Moulana Abdus Subhan Nadvi Ittal, Best teacher awards to Saheen, Saana and Manjunath, Non teachuing staff Sajjad sada and Driver Ishaque was also honoured.

The program began with the recitation of verses from holy Quran by Abdullah Armar, Transalation by Saeef Siddi Ahmeda in English, Syed Abdus Samad in Urdu, Naat by Fariz and Group, Shams school anthem was sung by Samaan and team , while Moulana Ziyau Rahman Welcomed and introduced the guests and Moulana Abdus Subhan Ittal Nadvi delivered vote of thanks. 

On this occasion, meritorious students, cultural awardees, sports achivers were honoured with certificates and mementos.

Vice President ITI Engineer Nazeer Ahmed Quazi, Syed Hasan Barmwar, Moulvai Aziziu Rhaman Ruknuddin, Moulavai Zubair SM, Moulan Ziya Ruknuddin, Moulan Yasir Barmawar, Mohammed Raza Manvi, Mrs Fahimda Khizer and many others were present.

Earlier, students performed fancy dress show and entertainment program was cancelled.
