Bhatkal: Anjuman arts, science, commerce college& PG Centre, Bhatkal celebrated its 51st Annual day gathering at Anjumanabad here on Sunday 31st March 2019.
Chief guest Dr. Riyaz Ahmed Managoli, Chairman and Director, Departemnt of Criminology and Crminal Justice, Rani Channamma University Belagavi, spoke about how education plays a prominent role in shaping the carrier. Taking reference from Holy Quran, he said that we are advised to gain education but in the name of Almighty God. He asked the students to use smartphones for a good cause and asked not to get involved in unnecessary things which could put them in trouble as police department can easily track the respective smartphone by its IMEI number by GIS investigation.
Guest of honor, Mr. A M Mulla, former Syndicate member, Karnataka University Dharwad, addressing the gathering, enlightened the importance of a teacher. He said that a teacher has a great responsibility and noted their profession as a 'Noblest'. A teacher's contribution towards students is useful lifelong, and this profession needs to be guarded carefully. He also lauded Anjuman for hosting 51st annual day celebration.
On the occasion, Senior Approved Teaching Staff, Dr. S R Usmani, who retires today after his glorious service of 27 years and Non teaching staff Mr. Hidayatullah Khan who also is retires after 21 years of glorious service to the institution.
Meanwhile, several students were awarded Trophies, Certificates and Cash prizes for their performance and achievements in Academics, Sports and co-curricular activities during the academic year.
The best outstanding student award for the year 2018-19 was awarded to Mr. Mohammed Saad Kola of B.Com 6th semester and Miss Tasbiha K Mujawar of M.Com 4th semester with cash prize of Rs 5000 each.
The program began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Urwa Barmawar, followed by the Naat was sung by Hasan Kazia while College function chairman Mr. Afzal Jamadar welcomed guests and students. Khurram and Shahid Mulla introduced the chief guest and guest of honor respectively. Principal MK Shaikh presented the annual report, while Mohammed Saad Kola delivered vote of thanks.
