Ankola: A leopard attacked a couple asleep in their house at Kumbarkeri in Angadibail in Ankola taluk on Saturday.

Ramanand Ganapu Siddi and his wife Sushila Siddi who were attacked by the leopard were severely injured in the incident. The couple is so poor that their house did not have a door too. Hence, the leopard entered the house and attacked them.

The leopard returned to the forest after a dog domesticated by the family counter attacked it.

The couple was immediately shifted to Taluk Hospital.

Hiregutti Range Forest Officer Naresh G V met the couple and enquired their health.
