Ankola: Two persons were killed on the spot and six were injured in two different mishaps that took place on National Highway-63 under the limits of taluk on Friday.

In a head-on collision between a canter and lorry, canter assistant Basavaraj Nagappa (28) was killed on the spot and three others were injured.

In an accident between a car and a lorry, one Vasant Takappa Akki (78) of Gadag was killed on the spot and three others were injured. They have been admitted to Karwar district hospital for treatment.

Cases have been filed with Ankola Police Station.
