Ankola: Police have successfully cracked the double murder of an old couple that took place at Andle in Ankola taluk. It can be recalled that Narayan Nayak and his wife Savitri were murdered at their house.

Police took the main accused into custody and subjected him to an enquiry. The main accused Sukesh Chandru Nayak accepted that he along with three others from Bengaluru had committed the crime. Sukesh Nayak is the nephew of Narayan Nayak and had been staying in Bengaluru.

The police suspected his involvement when the accused did not turn up for the last rites of the couple. Recently when he came to Andle to attend the 14th Day ritual, he went absconding from the police. But the police caught him and brought him to the village and enquired. On Monday, the main accused was taken to crime spot for Panchanama.
