Karwar: Large and medium industries and district incharge minister R V Deshpande has urged the centre to facilitate creation on more jobs in the country.
Briefing reporters, after hoisting the National Flag, at Police Parade Ground, on Tuesday, Deshpande observed that due to fast paced technological developments, many graduates have become jobless due to lack of necessary skills.
Stating that while Karnataka had focused on developing skills among the youth to make them suitable for jobs, the Centre, on the other hand, had failed to provide basic facilities in this regard.
Meanwhile, the minister, who is also incharge of infrastructure development, said, to facilitate tourism, an airstrip is being constructed in Kumta taluk. Similarly, he said the construction of Godambi Technology and training Centre would be taken up soon, while the construction of Fish Processing Unit has already begun in Tadadi.
In this regard, he said, while the Centre has approved the development at Tadadi Port, Environment Board was yet give its approval for the same. Pointing out while Rs 250 crore has been sanctioned for construction of 32 bridges, he said, the tender process would be taken up only next month.
The District Incharge Minister R V Deshpande said special funds have been released for repair of mud walls of schools in the district.
