9,766 students to write SSLC exam in Karwar district

Bhatkal: K Manjunath, Deputy Director of Public Instruction Department (DDPI) said in a press release, that all preparations have been made, under the guidance of the deputy commissioner to hold SSLC annual exams transparently and systematically in Karwar educational district from 21st March to 4th April.

"A total of 9,766 students will write the exam in Karwar educational district which comprises Karwar, Bhatkal, Ankola, Honnavar and Kumta taluks. As many as 9189 fresher regular students, 287 Fresher private students, while 206 regular repeaters and 82 Private repeaters will write the exams”.

To contain malpractice, special sitting and mobile squads have been formed. Students have been asked to carry hall tickets, compass box and other materials mentioned behind the hall ticket to the examination hall. They should be present at the centre 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination and occupy their respective seats. Students have been told not to bring cellphones or any other electronic device to the examination centres.

All the exam centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code would be imposed in a radius of 200 m of all the exam centres.

The district administration has already identified the routes for the distribution of the question papers. There were no sensitive or hyper-sensitive exam centres in the district.

The exams will start at the stipulated time. Students should reach the exam centres by 9.15 a.m. No one would be permitted within the exam centres after 9.30 am, he added.
