Mangaluru: As many as nine persons were arrested by the Mangaluru East police on the charges of their alleged involvement in illegal gambling in a room in Karangalpady.

Sources said, the arrested men have been identified as Ashok Shetty alias Kori Shetty (49), Anand (49), Rajashekar alias Bend Raja (46), Tilak Raj (33), Sharath Kumar (37), Neelappa Bheemappa Meti (30), Sajid Ahmed (48), Jeevan Kumar (59) and Sooraj Thimmappa Poojary (42).

The police have seized Rs 68,140 in cash, a car and three two-wheelers from them.
