Mangaluru: Seven fresh Covid-19 cases were registered in Dakshina Kannada, taking the district’s total tally to 423 positive cases.

DK Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said, of the seven cases, three have international travel history from Kuwait. They had arrived at Mangalore International Airport on June 17, while P 9023, a 70-year-old man, is suffering from Influenza-Like Illness and hails from Puttur.

P 9027, a 30-year-old woman and P 9028, a 38-year-old man are primary contacts of P 6618 and were in quarantine.

P 9029, a 56-year-old man hailing from Belthangady, was suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and had tested positive for Covid-19.

On a positive note, 17 infected people recovered and were discharged from Wenlock Hospital on Sunday. As many as 238 patients had been discharged. The report of 218 samples is awaited, in addition to 132 samples that were collected on Sunday. The district has 187 active cases, the DC added.
