Mundgod: Six people have been affected by Chikungunya at Malavalli village in Mundgod taluk, informed Taluk Hospital Administrative Officer H F Ingale.

He said around 18 people developed fever and joint pains in the village. So, Health officials visited the village, collected blood samples for testing. Later, it was confirmed that six people had Chikungunya. A team led by District Malaria Officer Ramesh Rao visited the village and created awareness about cleanliness and symptoms of viral infections. Fogging was also done in the village.
