Sirsi: Sirsi Police, on Thursday, arrested a gang of five members who were getting a kidnapped person from Goa.

The man who was kidnapped is Ambarish Pratap Singh (31) of Goa and the kidnappers who were arrested were identified as Mohammad (36) of Suratkal, Anees Mohammad (46), Nawaz (35), Mohammad Mustaf (300 and Sakim Suleman (25). While three persons were arrested at Yellapur Naka, two were held at Yellapur. The arrests were made while they were taking the kidnapped man towards Hubballi.

Background

The accused had a dispute with Ambarish, who was the head of a gas company, over some financial matter. Keeping this in mind, the accused kidnapped him and were taking him to Mangaluru. However, the car had to take a different route near Goa checkpost and in meantime, met with an accident. From there, the car took the Sirsi route. But based on information provided by Goa police, the accused were arrested.
