5 booked for flouting quarantine in Sullia

Mangaluru: Sullia police have registered cases against five persons on the charges of flouting quarantine rules.

According to the police, Vanans, Devaramana and Prekumar G, all from Tamil Nadu; Praveen George from Gandhinagara and Shruthi C S from Bellare had visited a private hospital in Sullia in order to repair a MRI scanning machine.

All were asked to remain quarantined. However, they violated the quarantine period. Based on the complaint by Tahsildar of Sullia, police have booked cases against them under IPC sections 269 270, 271 and Section 5(1) of Karnataka Epidemics Diseases Act 2020.
