Haliyal: Police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder of Keshav Pandurang Kitturkar (30) of Bidrolli village in Haliyal taluk recently.

The accused were identified as Pandurang Fakira Kitturkar who is Keshav’s father, Pandurang’s second wife’s son Akshay alias Akash and relatives Lata alias Tulasabai Pandurang Kitturkar, Ganapathi Yellappa Kitturkar and Laxman Kedari Kitturkar. 

Police said that the accused had strangulated Keshav to death using a rope recently as Keshav had demanded a share in the property. The accused even tried to destroy evidence to mislead the police. CPI B S Lokapur, SI Ananthmurthy and their team carried out the investigation under the guidance of Dandeli DySP Mohan Prasad and successfully cracked the case.
