Siddapur: Three students who went on for swimming at Burude falls in Siddapur taluk, drowned and lost their lives on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased students have been identified as Murali of Sirsi, Abhishek Shrikanth Naik of Siddapur and Sai Chandra Dhanvantari of Kerala. All the three were students of Siddapur Ayurveda College.

Sources informed that they had gone for a picnic to Burude falls as they were on their vacation. They reportedly entered the waters for swimming when the incident took place.

As the news of the drowning spread, Siddapur police rushed to the spot. The body was recovered with the help of locals.

A case has been registered in Siddapur police station.
