Karwar: Four people from Karwar were killed and one was injured in an accident involving a lorry and a car on Pyanjarkhoni-Kankolim national highway on Saturday.

A man, his wife, his six-month-old daughter and driver were killed in the accident. However, their identity has not yet been established.

The accident took place when they were on their way to Karwar from Goa airport. The front portion of the car (KA02MD 8957) damaged completely, eyewitnesses said. Injured have been admitted to Goa Medical College hospital. A case has been registered and investigations are going on.
