Mangaluru (TOI): Mangaluru City police on Tuesday arrested three youths for questioning and heckling an engineering students for moving around with her guides from a different community.The incident took place near a leading stationery store on car street on Monday.Objecting to the girl's presence in company of her guides, the youths who came in a scooter questioned her for doing so and even threatened her of dire consequences it she continued with her ways.

KM Shantharaju, Deputy Commissioner of police (law and order) said the victim Parveen (name changed) was heckled by the accused-Ramil Akram, 25; Mohammed Nilaf,23 andMohammed Sauhan,23, all residents of Kotekar.

Police registered a case under sections 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) on a complaint from the victim the DSP said. Police also seized the scooter they had used to commit the crime
