Udupi: Udupi district reported 254 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the district to 11,513.

However, no Covid fatalities were recorded. Out of 254 cases, 149 are asymptomatic and 105 are symptomatic. A total of 1,029 swab samples were collected for testing and the results of 240 swab samples are pending.

As many as 8,798 people have been discharged and 2,620 cases are active in the district. 

Out of 254 cases, 145 are from Udupi, 61 from Kundapur and 40 from Karkala respectively. Eight infected are from outside the district.

The sources of infection of 47 cases are under investigation. A total of 107 cases are from primary and secondary contacts and four have travel history.
